We were picked up outside our accommodation in Sandy Bay and joined about 18 others on a full day of interesting sights and food. We picked up oysters and cheese... read more from locals and had these for morning tea on the beach. Great scenery. Other highlights were fudge and /or whisky tasting, light house tour, up the stairs for fantastic view at The Neck, glorious lunch at the one and only pub on the island and cider tasting. Dropped back at accommodation around 6pm. Highly recommend this trip. Fantastic way to discover a lovely island and learn some local history on the way.

Steve (our guide) was amazing! His knowledge about the island and also the aboriginal history was fantastic. We were picked up promptly from our hotel Mantra on Collins Street early... read more in the morning. The tour bus was clean and comfortable. The drive to the ferry terminal was nice and it was a great experience driving the tour bus onto the ferry (barge) over to Bruny Island. The food was amazing! The oysters!!!! So fresh! It was my mums first time trying an oyster and she now loves them. The lunch at Bruny hotel was amazing! Absolutely delicious. The lighthouse tour was the highlight for me. The views from the top was beautiful.
Thanks to Steve for giving my mum and I am an amazing trip to Bruny Island. I plan to come back and sample more of the amazing food. A++++

Fantastic day exploring some of the highlights of this beautiful island. Rick, our tour guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Great value for money. Highlights included the lighthouse tour,... read more morning tea of oysters, cheese and sourdough on the beach, and lunch at Bruny Hotel.

It was an early start, with a pick-up from our hotel. We had a group of 18 in a moderately comfortable mini-bus. Our driver, Grant, was friendly and kept up... read more a very interesting commentary. First stop: the ferry terminal at Kettering for coffee. The 'oohs' and 'aahs' began when we saw sailing boats mirrored in the blue water of the small harbour. Next, delicious local cheeses and fresh oysters, served on artisan bread, at the beach (where Captain Cook's Resolution watered in 1777). We had a short but steep walk up to the Bruny Island lighthouse, for a fascinating visit. The views from the top were fabulous! I am sad to say that lunch at the pub was disappointing. Grant had phoned ahead with our orders, so it was all ready for us, but I thought the fish was overcooked and dry. This was a shame, as everything else was very good. "Dessert" was a taste of fudge at a chocolate factory. The next chance to stretch our legs was climbing several hundred steps at the Isthmus with a lookout dedicated to Truganini - well worth the effort. The tour finished with a sampling of local honey and then we travelled back to Hobart via the ferry. Overall, a very good day in a beautiful setting.

We thought the trip was fantastic. Nigel picked us up and off we went for a fun filled day with other great visitors to Bruny. The tour stopped... read more the Bruny Island Cheese factory then the Honey shop. It continued with a long hike to the bay for a relaxing visit then a picnic type lunch. We hiked back over the cliffs to the can then made a stop at the oyster shop and we went to a nearby picnic area for oysters and cider. It was a wonderful group of people and a terrific guide.
